Disclaimer: I don't own the Gundam Wing boys. Apparently neither does Bandai because they are now officially property of my 3 year old baby sister. They're her "guys" and she says she doesn't want to share. Then again she also calls Wing a horsee.
Credits: Teddy Bear was inspired by the picture "Bribing Kisses" by Fablespinner. And everyone on GWFF and Love TQ that liked Teddy Bear enough to give me feedback and ask for sequals/sidefics^_^
"I'll go up first." Trowa said and pointed upward.
The other four boys looked up. They were staring at the remnants of an older play structure from the early 70's. It stood within their playground surrounded by sand. The structure was six green wood poles, so thick that none of the boys could wrap their arms fully around them. Two poles were slightly shorter then the other four, being just over a story high. The other four were a story and a half. The poles were old and the wood was rough in texture.
Trowa pulled himself up, hands griping the pitted wood and wrapped his legs around the pole. He dragged himself up until he reached the top of the shorted poles. He stretched his arms out to each side, to help him maintain his balance. A puff of air sent his unusual bangs floating from his face. He made his way to the taller poles. He shimmied his way up and grinned down at the other boys.
"OK! Toss up the seeds!" Trowa called down. His blue jeans were ripped at the knees and the threads danced in the light breeze that picked up over the playground. Trowa's thin black shirt was flecked with splinters from his climb.
The bag of seeds hovered near his face for a moment and he snatched it from the air before it began it's descent. The other boys followed him up and soon they were all sitting, straddling the wood beams and laughing while they cracked sunflower seeds.
"So Quatre, what was the big deal?" Duo asked as he spat a sunflower seed shell to the sand below. The longhaired boy was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a rather worn out "Thunder Cats" T-shirt. He had a dirt smudge on his forehead that he scratched at. "Why the group meeting?"
"Well, I was talking to my dad." Quatre began slowly. He examined his dark green T-shirt and picked off pieces of lint from the material. He kicked his feet and waited for some sort of reaction from his friends. He looked up and peered at them threw his glasses
The other boys looked at him and nodded encouragingly. Wufei sat behind him and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Trowa smiled softly at him from the adjacent wood beam as did Heero and Duo.
"I'm going to St. Paul's for junior high." Quatre said in a small voice.
He was greeted by stunned stares from his friends.
"But that means you won't be with us." Heero said slowly. The Japanese boy still looked slightly stunned. His white shirt billowed in the wind. His black slacks were covered in green paint and wood flecks.
Quatre nodded. He bit his lip and seemed to struggle with something.
"But we'll still be friends.......... right?" Quatre asked his voice soft.
"Of course! Don't be stupid." Wufei huffed.
Quatre arched his back until he was looking at Wufei. The blonde grinned at his upside down friend. Wufei poked him in the forehead. Quatre laughed and Wufei rolled his eyes. The blonde straightened and beamed at his friends.
"You have to come over all the time still." Duo said vehemently.
"I will. Promise." Quatre said.
"Pinkie swear?" Duo asked his eyebrows going to his hairline. "Wufei, make him pinkie swear."
The Chinese boy jabbed Quatre in the back with his pinkie. The blonde twisted his arm around so he could reach and made the most solemn of oaths. He curled his pinkie around Wufei's and shook. After this, the boys began talking about Duo's latest acquisition, a new Wolverine comic. The conversation came to a quick halt.
"DUO MAXWELL! HEERO YUY! TROWA BARTON! QUATRE WINNER! WUFEI CHANG!" The unmistakable voice of Mrs. Zigiana Maxwell cut across the playground. The plump woman was practically heaving in anger. Her white streaked, red hair was tied back neatly at the nape of her neck. Her eyes were narrowed. She seemed to be the embodiment of displeasure. "GET YOUR BACKSIDES ON THE GROUND THIS INSTANT! YOU KNOW YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED UP THERE!"
"Busted." Wufei muttered. The boys all nodded their heads in agreement as they meekly made their way down to the ground.
